After completing its first full year of operation, CCI students, faculty and staff can look back with pride at numerous awards and achievements:

•·         A total of 180 high school students participated in 11 college and two high school programs.

•·         181 WGTC certificates were awarded to high school students dually enrolled in college classes.

•·         Mr. Brian Little, Broadcast Video Production instructor, and his students produced and released several newscasts, promotional videos and a movie.  See their work at  This class was also featured on "Gesundheit On The Road" on DCTV 23.

•·         Madison Brooks- Senior at Alexander High School and dually enrolled in WGTC's Dental Assisting program- was accepted into the Dental Hygiene program for West Georgia Technical College.  This competitive program only takes 14 students each year.

•·         Haven Trow, CCI Broadcast Video Production student, was among five district winners who moved to state competition in the Georgia Student Media Festival.

•·         CCI hosted its first Expo in March, 2010, giving parents and students the opportunity to visit classrooms, programs and instructors.

•·         CCI Graphic Arts students designed and created the first ever CCI yearbook, which was dedicated and presented to retiring Superintendent Donald J. Remillard on May 10, 2010.

•·         CCI hosted hundreds of middle and high school students, providing tours and actual classroom experience to encourage future participation in dual enrollment and high school programs.

•·         A total of 50 local businesses and individuals provided support and/or financial contributions to students, programs, and CCI faculty and staff.
